The Tassie food diaries Pt.2 (dessert)

August 31, 2009

During one short week in Tasmania I managed to eat a lot of sweet things. There were sherbert lemons and chocolate coated almonds, apple and cinnamon muffins and boysenberry ice-cream.

And then there was dessert at The Agrarian Kitchen. I think a step-by-step is in order:

Make some doughnuts.

Roll them in cinnamon sugar.

Cut them in half. Sandwich with homemade coffee ice-cream, and serve drizzled with chocolate sauce.

One of the things I loved about the Agrarian Kitchen was making things from scratch that I never usually would. You could, of course, buy the doughnuts, ice-cream and chocolate sauce and make a really easy dessert. Either way, it’s a brilliant combination. But if you have the time and inclination, why not look up a basic doughnut recipe and give this a whirl. I highly recommend it!
