In The Continuation

May 20, 2010

{Domain Field, 2003, by Antony Gormley via Fubiz}

One of my favourite things about some international websites is the way babelfish translates their words. Sometimes the result is odd, sometimes silly, and sometimes, more often than you might think, the result is incredibly elegant.

Fubiz is one example; simply tops. They share a wide and brilliant range of art and design every day, which is only enhanced by the English translation. For example, the introduction to an exhibition by Antony Gormley – which features magical and slightly unsettling figures – says:

A new exposure by the English artist Antony Gormley with this series of sculptures expressing the image of oneself with mouldings of its own body, out of lead and steel. It is currently exposed to “Anna Schwartz Gallery” in Sydney. More images in the continuation.

More images in the continuation. I love that.
