Today was the first day of perfect Autumn weather. The red-purple-pink sunrise led to a clear pale blue sky, the morning air was crisp before it warmed gently; slight, white clouds appeared and the blue deepened. It was perfectly steady, until the clouds thinned to long strands on the horizon, golden light hit the trees as the sun set, and the sky turned pale again.
The energy in the air made it feel more like the beginning of Spring than Autumn, making me wish I was still at school, with a teacher who would let us have class outside. That was always the best!
I’ve got a sudden hankering to re-re-re-re-re-read In the Fifth at Malory Towers.
