Have you been watching The Gradual Demise of Phillipa Finch on abc1? I’m a little bit in love with it – the stories and style are so lovely. I used to see the drawings by Emma Magneta up at Berkelouw Books years ago, and I’m tickled that they’ve been developed into the series, with Phillipa Finch “the pin-up girl for the emotionally thwarted” (that’s me!)

There’s also an aces website, where you can learn about Phillipa Finch and make your own heartworks, which are then “sent to an automated drawing machine [in Sydney] to form a large collective artwork that will help phillipa awaken from her emotional slumber. a live feed captures the installation online, so that you can watch as your artwork is being drawn.” I’ve made 3 so far, as you can see – you like? It’s kind of addictive.

You can make your own heartworks here, watch a live feed of them being created here, and watch the latest episode here. Go!
